Intellitrends completes Macomb County Study
Intellitrends present Macomb County Economic Study to Commissiors and Focus Macomb
August 21, 2006
On Friday the leader of a Macomb County business group praised a county-hired consultant for a study that insists: "Do what you do best."
Clarkston-based Intellitrends reported that efforts to bring new jobs to Macomb should focus on two familiar areas: advanced manufacturing and advanced automotive production.
"I think they're hitting a home run here," said Roy Rose, co-chairman of Focus Macomb and president of a local engineering firm. "We have a good (economic) base here but we just haven't marketed ourselves well. We have to sell the resources we have."
Intellitrends President Marlene Stone told about 60 members of Focus Macomb that the county's best hope for future employment growth is to remain focused on manufacturing.
